Are We Responding or Reacting to the World Around Us?
with Tania Laughton 7–8 PM Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) | 11 PM–12 AM UTC Language: English Type of Class: Workshop
We all have our own habitual patterns of movement, thinking, and being. Over the years, some of these patterns may begin to interfere with our daily activities and influence the way we interact with the world around us. The Alexander Technique is an educational process that helps individuals become aware of unhelpful habitual patterns. Students learn to undo these patterns, to improve their whole body coordination, and to think more constructively as they become active participants in their own learning and well being. In this experiential workshop we will talk about the difference between reaction and response. We will also explore ways in which the Alexander Technique can help us experience a deeper sense of agency, ease, and resilience.

Resting with Agency
with Julia Gilroy 7:30–8 PM Central European Summer Time (CEST) | 5:30–6 PM UTC Language: English Type of Class: Constructive Rest
Constructive Rest is a powerful practice that demonstrates how your mental state and physical condition function as one integrated system. While you are lying down, I will guide you through my voice into a deeper sense of connection and ease. You will feel more released, alert, and yet serenely calm.
This 30-minute session helps release tension but differs from other methods because it relies on your active participation. It is also a way to understand some of the principles of this technique which often challenges our social norms. It demands little effort, results are not important, there is no judgment and the more you try the less progress you make.

Finding Your Voice in Turbulent Times
with Joy Arcolano and Bob Lada 6–7 AM Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) | 10–11 AM UTC Language: English & Korean Type of Class: Workshop
Finding your voice in turbulent times begins with noticing what turbulence does to us: when the ground feels unsteady, many of us feel it first in the body – the breath shallows, the voice loses its ease, presence gets harder to hold. In this participatory session, Alexander Technique International CAT teacher Bob Lada and voice teacher Joy Arcolano use Alexander Technique principles to help you experience grounded confidence and keep access to your voice as difficult situations arise. We'll practice specific techniques together, with support, and explore small practices you can return to in day to day, before a hard moment begins. You'll leave with the start of a personalized toolkit for quiet preparation and for finding your voice in the moment itself.
