Joy Lamberton ArcolanoJoy Lamberton Arcolano (she/her) is a Voice Catalyst and Alexander Technique teacher who collaborates with learners of all ages to help them gain access to—and agency through—their Voice by learning how to play their instrument of self. Together, they use theater as a lab to explore what it means to be human.An associate professor of theater at Boston Conservatory at Berklee, Joy specializes in voice & speech through embodied performance. She is an award-winning actor and theater educator, and founder of Playhouse Education (est. 2004). As a prolific voice actor, her work spans commercials, audiobooks, and new media. Joy also spent over a decade in human capital development as a lead facilitator for True to Life Training, delivering workshops across North America in leadership, mentorship, and navigating challenging interpersonal and equity conversations—including trainings on microaggressions and Title IX. Joy cashed her first teaching paycheck at the New York State Theater Institute Summer Program in 1996 and has been passionately teaching ever since. She currently directs the Youth Musical Theater Summer Program at Boston Conservatory and coordinates the Rowland Scholars initiative, expanding access for local students to pursue high-level performing arts training.
