The Professional Development Committee Launches ATI Knowledge Parties

As part of their continued work on the Pilot Project for Demonstration of Knowledge of Alexander's Writings, the ATI Professional Development Committee announces the first round of "ATI Knowledge Parties." These events will begin an ATI-wide discussion about Alexander's Writings, particularly the material involved in the Demonstration of Knowledge, and provide support for trainees preparing to complete the Demonstration of Knowledge.

Come join us on zoom for an open-ended conversation about the Eight Concepts of the Alexander Technique addressed in the Demonstration of Knowledge:

  • Primary Control
  • Conscious Direction
  • End-gaining
  • Faulty Sensory Appreciation
  • Inhibition
  • Means Whereby
  • Psycho-physical Unity
  • The Universal Constant (Use Affects Functioning for better or worse)

You are invited! Come share thoughts on each of these ideas: how they have influenced your
development as a person; how they have influenced your development as a teacher; and, how
Alexander discovered each of them according to the story he tells in the first chapter of the Use
of the Self.

Language facilitation is available for French and German speakers. We are working on
developing translations and support for Japanese speakers.

Der Ausschuss für Berufliche Entwicklung lanciert ATI-Wissens-Partys

Im Rahmen der weiteren Arbeit am Pilotprojekt zur Demonstration der Kenntnis der Schriften Alexanders kündigt der ATI-Ausschuss für Berufliche Entwicklung die erste Runde der "ATI Wissens-Parties" an, die eine ATI-weite Diskussion über die Schriften Alexanders, insbesondere über das Material zur Demonstration des Wissens, einleiten und die Auszubildenden bei der Vorbereitung der Demonstration des Wissens unterstützen sollen.

Triff uns auf Zoom zu einem ergebnisoffenen Gespräch über die acht Konzepte der Alexander-
Technik, die in der Demonstration des Wissens angesprochen werden:

  • Primäre Kontrolle
  • Bewusste Steuerung
  • Zielfixiertheit
  • Unzuverlässige Sinneseinschätzung
  • Inhibition
  • Mittel-Wodurch
  • Psycho-Physische Einheit
  • Die Universelle Konstante (Gebrauch beeinflusst das Funktionieren zum Guten oder Schlechten)

Du bist eingeladen! Komm und teile uns Deine Gedanken zu jeder dieser Ideen mit: wie sie Deine Entwicklung als Person beeinflusst haben; wie sie Deine Entwicklung als Lehrer*in beeinflusst haben; und wie Alexander jede dieser Ideen entsprechend der Geschichte, die er im ersten Kapitel über den Gebrauch des Selbst erzählt, entdeckt hat.

Le Comité pour le développement professionnel lance les “Festivités du Savoir d’ATI” (Knowledge Parties)

Dans le cadre de la poursuite de son travail sur le “projet pilote” (Pilot Project) de la démonstration de la connaissance (Demonstration of Knowledge) des écrits de F.M. Alexander, le comité pour le développement professionnel (Professional Development Committee: PDC) d’ATI annonce la première série de ses “festivités du savoir”.
Ces événements (fêtes, festivités du savoir) permettront d’entamer une discussion à l’échelle d’ATI sur les écrits d’Alexander, et en particulier sur les apptitudes nécessaires à la démonstration de la connaissance, afin d’apporter un soutien aux stagiaires en fin de formation
qui se préparent à effectuer cette démonstration de la connaissance lors de leurs evaluations (Sponsoring).
